Cynthia launched her fashion modeling career after she moved from New York. After signing a contract for 5 years with the company, she managed to achieve a successful debut as the cover girl for Essence Magazine. Cynthia's Essence cover, which was the most-sold in magazine history, was also Susan Taylor's most-loved. Soon thereafter, Cynthia booked her second cover and thus set the mood for her career success. Following her move to Paris Cynthia took to her Paris Fashion Week runways and Milan Fashion Week. Cynthia lived for nearly a year abroad. When she returned to the United States, her fame exploded. Cynthia was commissioned to work on advertisements with Maybelline Oil of Olay Macy's. Editorials in magazines for Vogue, Glamour, Elle, Essence and Vanity Fair soon followed. One of her most memorable moment in her career was the fact that she was selected against Naomi Campbell for a co-starring role opposite Sandra Bernhadt in the film "Without You I'm Nothing."
